Today's prompt, "Music that moves you. Are you a Spotify addict or a Pandora guru? Tell us your favorite artists/stations!" In all honesty I had already written a post with links to a few of my favourite songs by many artists and a cute joke about Pandora and Spotify but I was struck by the thought that I really can't write a post about music without mentioning my homegirl Brit Brit (Britney Spears). Then I figured, why even mention any other music, she's the one that I love best of all. On our second date, I actually said to Jay, "I would travel anywhere in the world to see Britney Spears in concert." As if that is totally normal second date conversation. Luckily he didn't run screaming. Sadly, I've not yet seen Brit Brit kill it on stage, though I know that Vegas show has got to just be amazing.
Why Brit Brit Is My Homegirl
[1] Our names both end in -ey. Not everyone can say that. [2] We both know all the words to Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again. [3] We both regret the decision to televise "Chaotic" with K-fed, but one of us is secretly grateful it happened.
[4] I teach kids. She has kids. [5] We've both love Las Vegas. Sadly not at the same time.

[6] We sing on airplanes.
Circa 2008: Had to crop out my partner in crime, so not to expose his true identity but this is (100%truth) me rocking out to Britney Spears Gimme More on an airplane ride to NYC. I would not lie about this.
[7] We are both middle children. Older brothers and younger sisters for the win. [8] We are both big fans of the Titanic movie and cringe when "the old lady dropped it into the ocean at the end."

[10] Ok, so maybe this list doesn't prove we are actually homegirls, but she still tops my list of favourite performers! She works hard, and has managed to stay relevant despite the influx of new pop stars in the past decade. Plus, she's a good momma! I assure you, I do listen to other music on occasion (actually more often) but I will always have a soft spot for my homegirl.
Linking up with Alyssa once again for Ten On Tuesday! [1] I recently rediscovered my love of country music. Especially the 1990's variety. Shania, Garth, Alan, Brooks&Dunn, the whole gang is just great!
[2] Why is everything from the 1990's so much better? [3] I'm still very much on this Good Wife obsession. It is a really well done show, and their aren't many of those anymore. [4] I think Spring has finally sprung here in O-Town. We were out on the weekend without layers, hats or mitts. It was great! Jay has even broken out his shorts! [5] This. In my class someone is always losing a tooth, but so far they haven't actually lost it. I love that their is actually an eye lash being offered.
[8] We went to see Joel Plaskett in concert at the National Arts Centre on Saturday night and it was amazing. He was obviously nervous to be playing such a big venue, but he was amazing (as always). We got engaged just before a Joel show a year and a half ago, so especially so close to the wedding it was nice to see another show.
[9] According to Buzzfeed KFC is making chicken corsages for prom. I'm guessing this is all a hoax but if not it is hilarious. I can't think of any lovelier smell for prom than fried chicken and flowers.

[1] I'm pretty glad not to be in Halifax this week, they are supposed to get hit with anywhere between 15 and 50cm of snow (depending on what forecast you read) tomorrow. That's a lot of snow for anywhere, but in Hali it usually turns to rain so 50cm of snow a week into Spring could really shut the city down. I'm hoping they make out ok, and so happy to miss it! [2] Both Jay and I had wedding related bad dreams last night. I won't go so far as nightmares but it was certainly not a good dream. Jay's had him eating poisonous chocolate and mine had me forgetting EVERYTHING (centrepieces, place cards, flowers, seating plan, etc), yelling at my dad in front of all the guests and then leaving for an hour just before the ceremony to pick up the stuff, when we encountered some kind of creature we had to escape from. So no more fro-yo before bed for us. [3] I love this song. Love. Love. Love.
[4] Did you know Venus has active volcanoes? Or that Mercury has no atmosphere? Or even what an atmosphere is? How many types of galaxies there are? How many galaxies there are?
I will admit I knew very little about space before the last couple of weeks at work. I might have learned it in school but I clearly made no effort to remember it, but now I am fascinated. It is awesome.
[5] We started watching The Good Wife on Netflix last night. It's pretty good. I did read spoilers about a recent episode about 20 minutes before we decided to give it a try, so that was dumb. If you need a new show it might be worth giving it a try though.
[6] Since I'm talking about TV, The Walking Dead obviously needs a shout out. Seriously? Why do they wait until the last 2-3 episodes of each half-season to make things interesting. It's like 5 hours of nothing, and then three hours of interest and then 6 months of withdrawls. SERIOUSLY!
Source The reference is a little old, but I think it still holds up. Five episodes talking about Terminus and we will get to see it for 15 minutes next week and be left with some non-zombie related cliff-hanger that will suck me in for another season.
[7] I was trying to be early for work today, I am majorly behind on my program planning for this week. Then, I opened blogger.

[9] I can't stand the Jay-Z and Beyonce Drunk In Love collab. I love their older stuff, '03 Bonnie & Clyde anyone? But this is just uggh. Not a fan at all. [10] Ok. Now I'm officially behind schedule. I'm going to cheat on number 10.
I am so glad to see this beautiful day roll around! February has proven to be easier than January, but barely! I am ready for a weekend of relaxing, watching the final two seasons of Boy Meets World and hopefully some snowshoeing! Before any of that fun can happen, we've got to make it until 5:30pm tonight, which at this moment feels like quite the challenge. But, anyway you slice it, in about 10 hours it is sweet, glorious, weekend! Unrelated, I'm watching Titanic II on Netflix. We are still reading about the Titanic daily at work and I've been watching documentaries about it in the mornings before work- but today for some unknown reason I decided it was time to watch Titanic II. Don't do it, drop the remote and smash it to bits before pressing play! It is absolutely five hundred times worse than you are imagining right now. This lovely song from Passenger is helping me keep my sanity at least! I'm using this Friday as an excuse to link up with Whitney at I Wore Yoga Pants To Work. Her posts always make me laugh! Hopefully this beautiful song can erase the memory of Titanic II from my mind if I listen to it enough.
