The Time I Met Hilary Duff

Keeping with my month of gratitude today I am grateful for all the cool things I have had the chance to experience. I have had many amazing opportunities to try new things, travel and making amazing (and lasting) friendships. 

Today though, for your entertainment I am going to detail my adventures meeting "celebrities." Meeting may also be a loosely veiled cover for stalking them outside the arena, waiting for them outside their tourbus, and of course spending hours in line for photo ops at the mall. Living the dream. 

It's been a while since I spent hours on loitering around for celebrities and I have become much less inclined to ask randoms to let me take pictures with them. If it's J.Biebs, Drake, Miley Cyrus or anyone from The Walking Dead though I will be ready to say cheese. 

Sidenote: I apologize for the blurry quality to the pictures, we don't have a scanner so yes I took pictures of pictures. 

Yes, that is Pete from Pete's Frootique. If you aren't from Halifax it's just a dude in a cowboy hat. We met him in an elevator in Sydney when one of our friends auditioned for Canadian Idol.

Another mall meet and greet with two of the stars of Radio Free Roscoe which was easily my favourite show on Family Channel. I also met Kate Todd's mom which was somehow very exciting.

I blurred everyone's faces because I don't have permission from them to share the photo. 

The first of four (or five?) times that I saw Hedley in concert. Jacob Hoggard mooned us and I thought I would never be happier. We managed to loiter around long enough to meet them after the show.

A post about people I "stalk" wouldn't be complete without a picture of my maritime love Joel Plaskett. I have sadly NEVER met him, but I have seen him in concert about 12 times. He is brilliant. 

Ok, so I've mentioned this before but in 2009 I went to NYC with a couple of friends from school and we literally stumbled upon a chance to see Madonna free in a newspaper (also free!). We had to wait in line for hours to get bracelets and then come back to wait in line some more to get in, but there were only a few hundred people allowed in and it was during the "4 Minutes" days so yes, J.T. himself was there. Cue school girl squeal.

Now for the piece de resistance: 

The day I met Hilary Duff! My friend won tickets to her soundcheck so instead of studying for my grade 12 exams we got to see a mini concert and meet Lizzie Mcguire. I couldn't have been happier. 

Yes, I was obsessed with the Family Channel well into my adult life, it used to be so wholesome.
