So technically summer already started for Jay & I with vacation last week (and well my past month of unemployed bliss) but for the rest of the world it is now officially summer and we have three glorious months of sun and fun to look forward too.
It was a weird week, trying to get back into the swing of things with Jay back at work and me trying to finish up all the last minute stuff before I start work. Our internet stopped working, leaving me a lot more time to do those "work-like" things rather than watching entire TV series.
I caught up with one of my friends for a delicious treat in Little Italy on Friday, it was great to catch-up and enjoy the sunshine. Saturday I had to bail on plans with another friend since I wasn't feeling fabulous, much of yesterday was spent on the couch. Today Jay & I decided no more sitting inside so we headed downtown to Parliament and the Byward Market.
It's not a particularily sunny day but it's a humid one. We wandered the market, the closed Jazz festival in the park, Parliament and landed in the annual Ribfest. We opted not for ribs (the line-ups were crazy!) but had some delicious grilled corn-on-the-cob!
This week we also came up with a list of about twelve things we want to see/do/experience this summer to try and get the most out of our summer here in Ottawa. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures!
Speaking of pictures, here are a few from our Ribfest adventure. I also scored the sweet green sunglasses for free (and they're the fold up kind)!

Unrelated to real life, I am seriously obsessed with "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus. It is so darn catchy and I just want her to be successful as a grown up rather than another fallen Disney star. You can check it out below if you wish. I chose the "twerkin' it" free audio version, you're welcome for that!
Keep Smiling :)
