The number in the title... that's how old my blog is. Today it is three years old.
When I first started I had no idea of the blogging community that existed or the ways that blogging would encourage me to learn and grow.
I just wanted a place to connect with my family and friends back home. A place to share bits of our lives.
I had no idea how much I had missed writing (fun Kim fact: I spent 4 years writing for my College Newspaper). Blogging has given me a voice that I didn't know I was missing.
Slowly I've learned about design, pixlr, html and more. I still have a long way to go (especially with the blog button) but I have already learned and created more than I ever imagined.

Circa 2013: Such an interesting colour scheme, sadly no archive exists from 2011 with it's overwhelming orange. |
My blog has allowed me to stay in touch with the friends and family back home that I was initially writing for, and allowed me to make some wonderful friends online.
It has allowed me to express my silly side, with VLOGS (that's a video blog) that ranged from apartment tours, to full on ridiculousness. Re-watching those it is crazy how much we've grown up in the past three years, it's not just the blog that has gotten older! I am feeling inspired to give vlogging (that's video blogging) another try, maybe a blog birthday post this weekend.....hmmmm.
I could link back to all my favourite posts, but at this moment that feels like a lot of work. If you want to see all of my old posts check out the "blog time machine" on the right sidebar --> and click through to whatever month you like! You're smart I'm trusting you to figure this one out!
I will link to my first ever post because really how can my blog have a birthday without it's first post? That would just be crazy. I'll also include a link to Rex's introductory post because if you watched the VLOGs you might be wondering why I am waving a squirrel thing around all the time.
Thanks for sticking around for any or all of the past three years! Your kindness and friendship have meant a lot to me (and if he knows you, to Jay too). It seems unbelievable to think this blog is three years old, and that we've spent the last three years living in Ottawa, somedays it feels like we just got here!
How long have you been blogging? Why did you start? Have you ever made a vlog?
Keep Smiling :)
Happy 3 Years of Blogging!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your blogging anniversary! I started blogging in 2008 when I was in college, but I did take a break for a bit after graduating.
ReplyDeleteAww happy blogiversary! I just went back and watched some of your vlogs!! Your "outs" and "abouts' KILL ME! hahaha! Oh, Canada :) (Oh, and I also watch too much of the kardashian crap. They make me feel better about my life).
ReplyDeleteI started blogging in 2005. At the time it was called a "weblog" and pretty much confined to the more "techie" types around work. I read about it somewhere and figured it would be a great way to feed my writers muse and it was. I started with free hosted blogs on Blogger and now, while I still have a couple Blogger blogs my current efforts are on wordpress platforms with a paid host and web address. Bloggers have and continue to change the world so keep bloggin'
ReplyDeleteHappy third blogiversary!
