Although I'm counting them separately letters 21, 22 and 23 are all headed to the same wonderful family.
This family I've known since 2013, I taught the oldest son Senior Kindergarten, and then got to volunteer in the class of the younger son during his Junior Kindergarten year. Their Mom is a freakin' delight and coffee tea dates with her became a highlight of my Ottawa life.
Since moving back to NS I've been trying to keep in touch with the families I connected with in Ottawa, and letters have become an easy way to do that. The best part of my job is the friendships I build with both the kids and their families. That some of these Ottawa friendships have persisted despite the distance makes my heart positively full!
I wrote separate letters to each of the boys, and then a little note to their lovely Mom. Now if I could just get my act together for a Skype date....
Have you ever made similar connections through work?
