"In real life..." is something my kids at work say at least a dozen times daily. We are constantly determining if things are happening "in real life." My co-workers and I tend to get a chuckle at this, since there isn't much of an alternative to things happening "in real life." To get them thinking about it, sometimes I ask what happens if it isn't "in real life" but mostly that just confuses everything!
Where is this going?
Glad you asked!
Because I hear this phrase so many times a week, I've started thinking it myself every now and again. It seemed like a perfectly ridiculous way to phrase the stories of our weekend.
In real life.. I got a gorgeous parka for $50 (I'm going to blog about this for weeks to come, it's love). It's bright blue, has lots of pockets, fake fur, is toasty warm and is just everything on my wish list, and didn't come with the $500 Canada Goose Jacket price tag.
In real life.. on the same shopping trip I scored a great deal on jeans from the gap and got this adorable anchor print t-shirt from Old Navy. I'm a little late to the party, but I am all over this nautical theme. All those years living by the ocean have given me a soft spot for all things ocean-y (so not a word).
In real life.. a self-serve fro-yo shop finally opened close to our house. By close I mean less than an hour walking distance. This will not be good for my piggybank, but I am so stoked. Of course today we had to trek out to see if it was any good. It was. Root beer & cotton candy swirled fro-yo, amazeballs!
In real life.. we got at least 10cms of snow Saturday morning. Seriously. This is one of those facts I wish fit under whatever the alternative to "in real life" is. Friday was gorgeous, it felt like Spring was here and then bam! Snowstorm. Yuck.
In real life.. I re-read the second instalment in the Hunger Games trilogy in about 24 hours. Damn, those books are good.
In real life.. blogging crossed my mind over the weekend, but I really wanted to try and spend a little less time on the computer. Plus, wedding stuff took over my brain.
In real life.. weekends should have at least three day, but five would probably be the ideal number. How is a person supposed to feel rejuvenated after just two days??! Ridiculous!
Linking up with some lovely ladies today! Molly, Carly & Angela for Funday Monday and Meg at Life of Meg for Mingle Monday. If you stopped by from the link-up let me know, I'll definitely return the visit!

The photo quality isn't great, but I was so excited about my new jacket photo shoot I skipped across the driveway and wiped out hard. This was about 3 minutes after Jay had wiped out into a puddle and I laughed (a lot), so only fair he would photograph it.

Seriously, how cute is this? The anchors are the same blue as my new coat.
Have I told you about my new coat yet? I'm trying not to make a big deal
about it, so I've been keeping it pretty quiet.

Keep Smiling :)
Oh! We had yummy froyo this weekend too because a shop finally opened up near us! I use the "in real life" phrase a lot because my husband jokes that all of my friends live in my computer. So normally, I have to determine between "real life" and "blog life." haha!
ReplyDeleteFroyo is probably the best thing to happen to my weekends, so glad you get to enjoy it too! I hadn't even made the real/blog life connection until you said it.
DeleteI find myself using "in real life" all the time to differentiate between my blogging life and my... everything else life. So you're not alone! Those are some amazing deals you got. Love the blue coat!

I hadn't even thought about real live vs. blog life until you and Joey mentioned it in the comments! It's so true though, if only I could explain my blog to my kinders, it might help them understand what they're saying!
DeleteThat is so funny because you don't realize you say things like that until they are pointed out. I love that candid picture of you in the snow and I completely agree weekends should be at least 3 days!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have a pretty wicked bruise on my knee from my wipeout, but I couldn't stop laughing so I sat in the snow for at least five minutes!
