Give A Little Love

Well, the weekend is [almost] over once again. It was a rather uneventful weekend for us. Despite predicted weather of 14+ degrees and sunshine we had a lot of clouds and it sure didn't feel like 14 degrees. Therefore we spent less time outdoors than we generally like to.

We did go for a lengthy Saturday morning stroll along the Ottawa River Bikeway, which took us from our house down to Parliament Hill and back. It's been 8.5 months since we moved here but I have to say I am still absolutely in awe that we live so close to Parliament and can visit whenever we like. I mostly find what happens inside those buildings disgraceful, but the grounds are gorgeous. I told Jay if I worked as close to Parliament as he does I'd go sit on the grass everyday just because I could.

After our walk we became certifiable couch potatoes. We spent the remaining 10 hours of the day on the couch alternating between sleeping & watching hockey. The SENS played a rough but successful game, and managed to take down the NY Rangers, tying up the series. I am stoked for Game 3, I think we will have to frolic to a bar to watch it with other SENS fans.

Despite my deep love for the SENS I also appreciated Washington's victory over the Bruins, in the second overtime period. I am not a fan of the Bruins so hopefully Washington will make it to Round 2 of the playoffs, I think they'd be a good match for my SENS.

That's enough hockey chatter, especially since I mostly make it up as I go (Shocker I know!).

Today we had dinner at The Works, a fabulous restaurant that serves only burgers. You get to pick a bun, what type of patty, toppings (and there is a huge selection) and side dish. It is brilliant. I hate decisions so I find ordering a little stressful, but I've yet to be disappointed by my selection. They also have incredible milkshakes. The best part my Nova Scotia friends is that they might be bringing a restaurant to Halifax!

I think I understand why celebrities sometimes take time off due to "exhaustion." I ended up taking not one but two sick days last week due largely in part to exhaustion. I felt completely burnout and miserable. Two days of sleep & Season 1 & 2 of The Nanny (it's totally as good as you remember it to be!) on Netflix and I was feeling much better.

That's about all the news for today, as I mentioned last week Jay & I are participating in the MS Walk at the end of April. Check out the link on the top right of the page if you want to sponsor me or get more information. :)

I'm going to leave you tonight with a perfect combination of my Nova Scotia loves: Joel Plaskett & SMU. The video is a little strange but it's a good song, and totally worth it for that glimpse of Husky Stadium!  You Let Me Down- Joel Plaskett

Keep Smiling :)
