Quest for Happiness [Day 8]

Today is Friday (cue Rebecca Black) which is awesome! Hopefully you had a great day and are excited for a weekend of summer (ok, late spring) fun!

Aside from being Friday here are three more reasons why today was awesome:

1) I got to speak to most all of my family on the phone tonight (minus my big brother). It was an unexpected surprise and totally made my night. It's not often I get to talk to all of them at once now that I live so far away! Sidenote: They were all in one place because it is my grandpa's 94th birthday today which is very special!

2) We saw a rainbow today when on our nightly walk. I'm 90% sure it is the first rainbow I've seen this year. They are just such interesting and beautiful things.

It was fading fast but I managed to get one quick picture before it disappeared.

3) Cotton Candy Ice Cream. Need I say more? It is delicious! Jason has the Red Velvet Cake variety I don't love it but he says it's good.

I baked some cookies today. It was an attempt at Orange Creamsicle cookies but they didn't turn out as delicious as I expected. They taste like chocolate chip cookies minus the chocolate chips and lacking enough orange-y goodness to compensate. I'm going to buy more oranges and give it another go next week, I'll let you know how it goes! 

This weekend there is a big festival in our neighborhood that sounds pretty exciting! We are going to check it out tomorrow so expect a blog about that this weekend.
