I'm about three weeks late on my Sunday blog schedule. Life took a turn toward the unexpected which meant I didn't have the time, nor the desire to be blogging. Things are returning to normal now, so I'll try and post Sunday updates on a more regular basis.
Since my last post I have finished up my summer babysitting work and started back to school. I had an awesome final week with my babysitting girls and actually got to visit them yesterday which was lovely!
Being back in class is, well, an adjustment. Two years out of school doesn't seem like a long time, but trying to readjust to sitting in class all day- and to homework- is harder than I anticipated. The program is pretty interesting so far though. I am most excited to go on placement later in the fall and get to spend my days with kids again.
Three weeks is a long time to try and recap with words alone, so I am going to share some pictures to break up the wordy-ness of this post. [Sidenote: I know wordy-ness isn't a word.] The quality isn't great on some of the pictures we've just been using our phones, real cameras are too much work.

Jay and I went to the Mosaika Lightshow at Parliament Hill. We had seen it before but it's still fun to hang out on Parliament Hill at night eating candy and swirl ice cream cones (which we did!)
We went for a hike at Stoney Swamp in Kanata. It was more of a trail walk, not unlike Point Pleasant Park but it was good to be outside and in the woods for a while.
As you may have noticed in the above photos my hair is significantly shorter now. I couldn't deal with the messy mop top I had going any longer. Below is a before picture (ignore my stunned look, Jay's iPhone always catches me a little by surprise!)
I ordered two pairs of boots online and they finally arrived (and look mighty fly if I do say so!) The box was massive though and Jay wouldn't help me carry it though he was quick to try and help me open it.
This Saturday was also the annual Taste of Wellington West Festival. I blogged about it last year, though I had no idea what it was called and kind of thought we'd be treated to live entertainment in parking lots every weekend. It is a street wide party, with food samples, live music, classic cars on display and lots more. Although it was a chilly day we had a great time wandering the street and eating Pumpkin Custard!
Jay wants to own this car. A LOT. I'm not sure why.
That about sums up the last few weeks of adventures. Now that summer vacationing is over we are re-adjusting to somewhat of a routine. I'm still sad to see summer go but it is nice to be able to live a more predictable life for a while.
I'll wrap things up with this awesome J.Biebs book I discovered at Chapters last night. If only I had a job I can think of about ten people who'd be getting this treasure in the mail. Luckily I am not employed so such frivilous purchases must be avoided. But seriously who doesn't want to read this?!? If reading is not your thing you should watch Teatime with Sophia Grace, Rosie and Justin Bieber from Ellen this past week. Hilarious. Another day this week the girls talked about becoming Mermaids, it was also highly entertaining.
Hope all is well in your corner of the world, I'm sending you lots of love!
Keep Smiling :)
Looks like you had a great time! I wish I can attend such festivals. We have fiestas here but I have never attended one. Hmmmm....now, I'm thinking maybe I should.
