The delightful Savannah over at Simply Savannah Ferran has nominated me for the Liebster award. I was blessed enough to be nominated for this two summers ago, back when I first gave the blogging game a try.
I'm in a bit of a rule breaking mood, so down below you'll find my amendments to the rules, but just in case you want them here's the fine print.
RULES
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions that the nominator has set for you, plus create 11 questions for the people you've nominated to answer.
3. Choose 11 people (with 200 followers of less) and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. No tag backs!

11 Facts About Me
[1] It is my dream to hold a Koala. When I do (and I will- yes, I know they are vicious/smelly/wild creatures/etc) I will have a meltdown that rivals only Kristin Bell and the sloth. Seriously. I've already told Jay he has to videotape it.
[2] We are eagerly waiting until we get a house so we can get a dog.
[3] I have managed to convince Jay that the dog we get should be a dachshund because they are seriously too much cuteness.
I mean look at that face, and those cute little legs! |
[4] I teach Kindergarten and love it. I think I fit the exact cliche of what you expect a Kindergarten teacher to be.
[5] I love rap and hip hop music. For some reason people are surprised when I tell this.
[6] I am perpetually behind schedule, luckily I'm usually not late because my initial goal is to be early so I make it where I'm going just in time. But, I'm never early.
[7] I own 4 pairs of Birkenstocks (3 styles) and five pairs of TOMS. In case my footwear interests you. I now have competing foot tans fighting it out for victory on my feet- it's classy stuff.
[8] Every glass in our house is now a Mason Jar. I know that's trendy now, but my love for Mason Jars actually goes back to getting hot chocolate with my great aunt way back in Jr. High, we went to this little shop that served everything in mason jars. (So, you know I liked them before Pinterest made them cool).
Ok, I ran out of ideas here, so the last 3 are courtesy of my lovely husband (of 2 months this week)! He's a little grouchy this morning!
[9] I have big eyes
[10] I have awful taste in music. {This is just wrong, see #5}
[11] I'm not very good at sharing (based on the fact we have one laptop charger that works and I had it when he needed it)
Savannah's Questions
1: What is the most recent book you read? Would you recommended it? I'm re-reading Harry Potter, so I'm just about finished the first one (I know, it has an actual name but I can't keep track of those), I'd recommend it but I'm not feeling super passionate about it. 2: What motivated you to start blogging? My dad had been blogging for years, and then Jay & I moved to Ottawa (15 hours from home) and it seemed like a good way to keep in touch with family & friends.
3: What is the worst movie you have seen in the past year? Don Jon with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Scarlett Johansson- it was awful!
4: Vacation spot recommendations? Halifax, NS (it's very pretty) or anywhere you can see the ocean.
5: What has the best part of your day been? Sleeping In! (I'm writing this at 8:20am)
6: If you could go back and relive one day, what would it be and why? Our Wedding Day, University Grad, the day Jay & I met, or Grade 12 Prom because I loved it more than anyone should- I'd love to see if it actually holds up to my memories.
7: What's your favourite personality trait about you? I love to laugh, literally I spend my whole day laughing at something, I just can't help it.
8: What's your favourite brand of purse? Jessica Simpson, I've yet to own one but I dream of them.
9: What is your daily workout routine? Sleep, eat, walk to work, chase kids, walk home, eat, nightly walk (1hour), eat, sleep. It's not very intensive.
10: Sleep or eat? Depends on the day, I love food but I also love my sleep.
11: If you were stranded in a foreign country and could bring along a a celebrity counterpart, who would it be? Why? Hilary Duff. I'm curious how she managed to be a Disney Starlet who didn't fall apart (and who wouldn't want to chat with Lizzie McGuire). She just seems like a genuinely nice person, and I could probably get her to reinact the Lizzie McGuire movie if we were in Europe. Plus, I could ask, are you broken up or not?
Ok, so here's where my rule breaking comes in! I have many blogs that I love and many bloggers I'd like to learn more about but I don't want to pressure anyone into writing or put anyone in the awkward position of declining the award. So if you read this here blog and have less than 200 followers Liebster It Up! I nominate you!
I read tonnes of lovely blogs everyday and totally think you are worthy of nomination I just don't like to put people into awkward situations. [Sidenote: I'm totally stoked someone liked my blog enough to nominate it, but let's be honest it's a weird concept in some ways]!
Seriously, if you're reading thinking I wish I was nominated -wish no more, I nominate you. Share your awesomeness, feel free to say I nominated you (because I do!), and let me know so I can share your link here!

I hear koalas are actually pretty mean little creatures.
ReplyDeleteI taught kindergarten for a few months once. It was pretty great, but I think that's because the kindergarten teachers at that school were very good disciplinarians and a lot were expected from those kids. I do NOT fit the cliche of a kindergarten teacher :)
As a kid, I wanted NOTHING MORE EVER than to hold a koala. I've also heard they're pretty mean little suckers, so the dream faded over the years. I'll take puppy cuddles instead. I've heard SO MANY PEOPLE say Don Jon was awful. Not even worth the wasted space on my netflix!
