My Passions

Today's challenge, "I am passionate about ______________. "

Everything.

That answer is: Vague. Unspecific. Generic.

But true.

I throw myself fully at everything, I can be persuaded to support just about any cause and I want so badly to change the world.

To try and narrow things down I would say I'm passionate about:

[1] Children & Youth: Helping them learn and grow, providing quality care and advancing the field of Early Childhood Education. I believe in the importance of childcare and in giving children (even young ones) choice and opportunity. I love programs that offer young people chances to try new things, discover talents and to realize the possibilities that await them.

[2] Love: I love the idea of love, the importance of love and the possibilities it holds. I am not speaking only of the romantic love, but also to the importance of friendly love and of course of family love. Saying I love you can be one of the scariest things a person can do, but also one of the most rewarding. Whether it's a moment between a parent and child, friends, or romantic partners. It's absolutely beautiful and makes me feel inspired just knowing that it is happening all the time.

[3] Kindness: This is probably the thing I am most passionate about, especially relating to #1 on this list. Everyday I try and reinforce concepts of kindness and respect with the children in my care and I try and live these values. Little things like saying "Thank You" or sending a little love in the mail to a friend, giving to charity. I just really believe in the value of being kind, and I hope that by believing in and attempting to be kind in life I can help make the world a better place, even just a little.

So, I guess I lied. I can narrow it down. I could have went on for a long time on this topic, but I'll wrap this up.

  2. Hey, "everything" really isn't such a bad answer. :) And I think being in early childhood education is a great field if you're passionate about sharing and spreading kindness--teaching it to children from early on will help them to continue being kind throughout life.
