It's finally time! The first ever Kindness Counts Fridays, a chance to share your stories of kindness and hopefully inspire even more! If you need ideas, check out this list I posted last week.
The rules are simple:
Ok, here's my kindness wrap up for the past couple of weeks:
+ We woke up bright and early on a Sunday to volunteer with the Canadian Army Run, helping run the baggage check. It was actually a blast- we got to meet so many runners, practice our organizing skills and do some good!
+ A little girl in the hallway at school (that I don't teach and have never met), stops me to say "I like your hairstyle." Thank you kind little girl, you made my day!
+ We started a 'Shining Stars Of Kindness' project at work. It's similar to the Kind Hearts I did last year, but simplified for my younger kiddos- basically if someone plays with them, helps them tidy up or makes them laugh we write it down and post it for all to admire! It's going to be a bit trickier with the younger kids, but I think they'll catch on soon!
+ Jay and I have been re-designing our apartment and as a result we've bee donating lots of old goods to the thrift shop, which is win-win for everyone!
+ I've been trying to be very mindful of using my manners, especially the "excuse me" when passing someone on the sidewalk and "thank you" for holding the door. This sounds so simple, but is so often forgotten!
Ok, your turn... how have you been being kind lately?
Keep Smiling :)
The rules are simple:
-> Do kind things
-> Witness kind acts
-> Post (a little or a lot) about them. I'm happy to have you link up a post that has little bit about Kindness even if the theme of the post is something different (ex. 5 on Friday posts)!
-> Link it up
-> If you tweet or Instagram use #kindnesscountsfridays
-> Feel free to use the photo above in your post, I haven't quite mastered grab buttons yet- but I'm working on it.

The link up will stay open until midnight on Sunday so if you are feeling inspired you've got lots of time to link up!
Edit (7am)- I'm having a little trouble getting the link list to show up so if you add it and yours doesn't show up let me know and I'll find another way to share your link! I've got to run to work but I will keep working on this throughout the day! So sorry lovelies! Seriously though, send me your link and I'll post it anyway!

Yay! The first - of many - link-up days for your brilliant idea! [Love your examples of kindness!]....you've made me want to clear out some stuff (not that we have much 'stuff'!) this weekend xxx
ReplyDeleteIt fills my heart with joy that you have so fully embraced this!
DeleteThis is a wonderful idea - I try to be as kind as possible, but sometimes it's little reminders like this that I need in order to step it up!
