Letter 60

A letter for my parents. I love them (obviously)! I was debating sharing a long winded explanation of why I sent this particular card, but it would be better to share a story :)

Every year when we were kids we would go on a road trip to PEI to go camping. Every year we would get a tiny bit lost making it from the ferry or bridge to Cavendish, our favourite place! Once we got to the camp ground my brother, sister and I would set to work finding the closest playground or digging trenches in the mud for our dinky cars.

Not long after we'd head to "town" to check out the boardwalk and the other little shops. We'd spend our days at Rainbow Valley and Sandspit and our evenings at the arcade, camp ground events or having campfires. We always had so much fun, and it was usually sunny.

One of our last trips was a particularly rainy one- fortunately my dad and brother had spent the last ten years perfecting their tarp hanging skills! We headed to town, bought a 2 litre bucket of chocolate ice cream and since we we're camping and had no freezer got to eat the whole thing! That is still one of my most favourite moments with my family.

Since then we've of course shared many more laughs, many more adventures but there is just something about PEI and about eating a tub of ice cream under a blue tarp ceiling that brings a smile to my face.

My heart is so happy at the thought of them. Maybe now is a good time to give someone you love a call?

With Love,

Kimberley
