I never used to be late for anything. In fact, I used to be one of those ridiculously early people who would arrive 20 minutes early for everything.
Then it all changed and I'm not sure why.
Now, I am late leaving my house every morning for work (though I walk fast so I make it just in time), but I would like to be there 20 minutes early to have more prep time.
If I tell a friend I will meet them, there is a huge chance I will be 10 minutes late. Especially if I have to catch the bus, for some reason I have lost my ability to be at the bus stop when I should.
I will text Jay and tell him I am on my way home from work and then actually leave 10 minutes later, because of course I haven't had all day to talk to my co-workers or the kids.
If we set a goal time to leave the house I will find a way to push it back. Running through the apartment yelling, "I'm coming I swear" or "I'm almost ready, I just need to do _____ or grab _____."
Perhaps the worst part of this terrible habit of mine, is that on the rare occassions I am early, on time, or ready to go before Jay I have no patience for waiting.
Yup, I'm that annoying person.
I'm really sorry about it but I can't seem to motivate myself.
Like now, I need to leave in 13 minutes, and I still haven't made my lunch, packed my bag or found my shoes.
Ugggh.
But with a weather forecast like this (and so many other interesting internet things, like Space Facts for Kids) why would I leave my house?
Keep Smiling :)
haha! I found those running around moments to be highly entertaining!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm glad they bring joy to someone! They leave me feeling frazzled!
DeleteHa! This is really funny. I am habitually early. The husband is notoriously late. It makes for an interesting life. I have, on a number of occasions, told him we're going somewhere a half hour earlier than we actually have to leave so we will make it on time. My cover is always blown though when I'm done getting ready and not freaking the eff out on him to "hurry his ass up." You win some. You lose some. And also? 3 degrees? Feels like negative 2? Yeah, no.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I can see how that would be both frustrating and amusing at times!
DeleteI blame blogging for making me late now....I just want to check one more time to make sure I don't have any grammatical errors....oh this post looks funny....don't mind if I do...before you know it 30 more minutes of your life is gone!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree! It sucks me in all the time and then I wonder where the time went.
DeleteI've been the exact same way recently!! If it's a social thing, I'm always at least 5 minutes late. If it's work, I'm usually 5 minutes late or 20 minutes early. I honestly have no idea why. Although I know blogging before work is a frequent culprit for the late-ness!

At least being early for work sometimes balances out the lateness! It's so hard not to get lost in blog world, especially in the morning with all the new posts from everyone!
DeleteOMG I had the same thing happen to me. I sued to show up for school super early so I could get the BEST spot on campus for me. Now, I'm good to show up on time - especially if I'm meeting friends, lol.
ReplyDeleteI think it's worse knowing you used to have it together enough to be on time, and then lost the ability. If we had always been late, it would just be the way things are, but now it's like why?
