I'll spare you a long story about why it makes you feel happy to do good deeds, or what the benefits are to the rest of the world as I'm sure you are all brilliant and already know.
Instead, I bring you just a few easy ways you can share a little happiness today.
[1] Buy a coffee for the person behind you in line.

When you're picking up your morning caffeine fix, throw down a few extra bills to cover the order of the person behind you. Whose morning wouldn't be improved by a free cup of coffee?
[2] Donate your old stuff.
After one of our major clean-outs! |
Whether you've just cleaned out some of your un-used stuff, or you haven't cleaned out in years take a few minutes to pull out stuff you don't use. Take it to your local thrift shop (bonus points if they use purchases to help fund community programs) or put it in a 'Free' box on your front lawn and show your neighbours some love!
[3] Give Someone A Thank You Card.
Source |
Handwritten notes are quickly being replaced with the quick and efficient email. Surprise someone (friend/neighbour/mail carrier/barista/bus driver/anyone) with a handwritten note thanking them for whatever you want. If you've can, you could stick a gift-card in the envelope, but a note of appreciation can go along way on it's own.
Sarah at Life of Love has a great project right now to help you accomplish this one! Seriously, check it out!
[4] Make Eye-Contact & Smile.
Don't be a creeper like us, silly faces might work- but probably only on a friend! |
This is too easy (and something I'm terrible at), but pull your eyes up from your phone/shoes/thesidewalk and smile at people as you pass. Try and avoid the creeper stare, but brief eye-contact and a smile can brighten someones day.
[5] Find A Volunteer Project.
This involves a little more commitment, but if you've got some extra time look up volunteer opportunities in your area. Many organizations accept volunteers on a regular basis or less commitment required special events.
These are just a few, simple ideas, to help brighten someone's day. I'd love to hear what ideas you have for sharing smiles!
Keep Smiling :)
