Greetings from the land of air travel,
So after a stress-filled day worried about making it to the airport on time I am now at the airport a solid 2 hours before my flight even begins boarding! Ridiculous.. But good because it means more time to catch up on this seasons Gossip Girl which I have fallen terribly behind on. If you've ever been a fan you should catch up, this season is the best yet if I dare say so after watching a mere 6 episodes. (Update: make that 8 episodes and it is the best season yet!)
To say I am excited to return to the land of bridges, seafood chowder and Citadel Hill would be a severe understatement. I am ecstatic! I miss the vastness of the ocean a great deal. There are also a few people in the land of seafood that I also miss (ok, to say I miss a few people might be the biggest understatement of them all)
I've been at the airport about twenty minutes and have decided that before I jet-set next I am getting a carry-on sized rolling suitcase. As I cannot manage carrying a backpack, purse and sweater/jacket. It's a mess. Everyone with rolling suitcases look so together, happy to be strolling and shopping. Then there is me, so frazzled and loaded with baggage I couldn't even get close to the counter when I bought my magazine and water. It was unfortunate. I also think I need a tablet, so that I can skip carrying my giant laptop as well, it's too bulky. Probably the solution here is simple.. Check my baggage, pack lighter, bring less sweaters and man up.
Most important of all of the above though, I should probably just accept that I am and have always been a bit of a spaz. I'm too eccentric for my own good sometimes. I can't even imagine a life where I'm not frazzled or making a scene about something. Lets get real, in high school I owned slip-on shoes with dragons on them, with the ugliest plaid imaginable, and I also coveted a leopard printed handbag for weeks.
I was made to be famous if for no other reason than because when you are a celebrity wearing ugly clothes is a fashion statement rather than a fashion faux-pas. Maybe I should be a celebrity stylist? That would probably be a great career option for me! Maybe I could even get my own reality TV show- there's an idea!
I haven't taken any pictures in the past few days…lets be real I've done nothing photo worthy this week. Since Jason left, I've eaten my weight in chicken nuggets and ice cream and watched nothing but Kardashians and Gossip Girl. I know you wish there was photographic evidence of this but sadly there's not so you'll have to imagine it I suppose. If it helps I was wearing my SMU sweatpants and hoodie. It was an all around classy scene!
It seems like people say it every year but it's not feeling much like Christmas at the moment. I don't know if it's the lack of snow, or the fact I finished all my preparation in November so the novelty has worn off. Mostly I think Christmas is just so overblown that as it gets closer we all begin to question what the big fuss is about because it doesn't feel any different than any other day. All that is really special about it is being with people you love, eating delicious food and flying reindeer.
I think my stories and airport wait time is about to come to an end so until next time…..
Update: My stories are over for tonight but my airport wait has been extended at least 35 more minutes. Ewww.. Also in my anthropological study of airports pre-christmas I can safely say I have been at the airport during the summer when it's been busier than tonight.. Perhaps everyone is taking the train this year?
