They Playing My Jam!

It's a snowstorm outside! It's days like this I wish I had a big window with a fireplace so I could enjoy the prettiness of the snow before it turns to a nasty dirty slushy mess. Being a traveling soul such as myself, I am hoping that the storm is just pretty and not a hassle for the people trying to get home or to see family. Traveling around the holidays is stressful!!
Slight typo, but still a sign of home :)
I hope everyone enjoyed a fabulous Christmas surrounded by people you love :) I had a great time in my maritime homeland. It was wonderful to have time to visit (although not as much time/as many visits as I would have liked), it was mostly like I never left. Although seeing everyone and the ocean did make me miss my homeland that much more. I did find flying so close to Christmas mostly lonely, it seemed like everyone was with someone yesterday on the airplane.

I'll be honest I'm finding tonight mostly lonely and I'm just a wee bit whiny so this might be a biased recounting of my experience. I think everything is just different from my holiday seasons in the past. It's my first holiday season in the grown up world having to work  rather than living life like a student and enjoying 2-3 weeks of vacationing fun.. It's a change, one of many this year.
Delicious candy cane hot chocolate!
I had a great time visiting my homeland though. I was able to catch up with quite a few of my homies over warm and cold beverages, rode the ferry in a snowstorm, and ate a lot! I also wandered downtown with my feet wrapped in plastic bags (inside my boots) as in typical Halifax fashion it was a wet messy snow and I was unprepared as always :) I also over indulged in chocolate and other more grown-up beverages, much to my dismay the next day! On the bright side I finally got to enjoy the afternoon nap I've been dreaming about for weeks!

I love the darkside :)

All in all I had a fabulous time while I was home and I can't wait until I can return once again :)

With the end of the year coming I feel compelled to make lists galore! I love reflecting and sharing so brace yourself for many lists in the coming days! I encourage you to reflect, and make lists too! Writing down your favorite moments of the past year, or even your least favorite or most challenging can help you see how far you've come or how much you've accomplished this year.  I like to keep the lists from year to year so I can compare from time to time. When I was younger I used to also make lists of my favorite things, like TV shows, colours, stores, songs, etc. It's fascinating to see how much my tastes have evolved (or better yet how much they haven't!)

I am about out of news and it's nearing the time of slumber so I'll wrap this up with one of the best songs ever (in my opinion!)
          Keep Smiling :)
