[Edit: Jay and I absolutely believed the clocks changed tonight, we were absolutely wrong so don't change your clocks until next Sunday! What a crappy Monday that could have led to, being late for school and work! The lesson here is don't come to me for answers to real life stuff, clearly I don't do my research!]
Two weeks. That is all the stands between me and placement! It is crazy how quickly this semester has flown by, and how much work is left to be done before classes end. Needless to say life is quite hectic at the moment.
Jay headed back to work this week and he's coaching wrestling again so he was plenty busy. His frisbee season wrapped up this week, and they won their game which was very exciting! He also raked up the blanket of leaves in our back parking lot this week, before he cleaned it up the driveway was a mess! The pile doesn't look as impressive in photo form as it did in real life, but it made a huge difference.
Jay's having surgery on his ankle this week to take out the pins that were put in when he broke it a few years back. I'll get to take care of him, which I think is scarier for him than the surgery itself.
Funny story, last time he had surgery (for his gall bladder) he couldn't have a shower without covering the suture wounds. He wanted to cover them with plastic wrap so he could get cleaned up and asked for my help. My interpretation was that I would need to wrap his entire torso in plastic wrap, and I started to do just that. He wasn't drugged enough that he didn't know what I was doing so he gave me a funny look and said "What are you doing?!?!" I told him my plan and he laughed at me before asking for scissors to cut small squares of plastic wrap to cover the four little spots. All this to say, I have not proven myself to be the most useful nurse.
This week was filled mostly with homework and re-adjusting to so called normal life. Not a lot of crazy excitement or big news to share.
We did go see the new Kevin James movie Here Comes The Boom. It was way better than the previews let on, or even then you'd expect from a Kevin James movie. We both really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. It was a lighthearted feel good comedy (albiet it slightly violent with the MMA stuff). I laughed lots and nearly cried with happiness a couple of times, though I'm a little emotional at times. haha.
Yesterday we frolicked to Ikea, Michaels, Chapters and Lee Valley Tools. We got cinnamon buns and hot dogs at Ikea they were delicious. I bought some scrap-booking supplies at Michaels, it's been a while since I've worked on my scrapbook but with a break from homework coming in the near future I'm hoping to get back at it.
We watched another episode of The Walking Dead today. It is easily my favourite show, and it's not even as terrifying this season. Probably a bad sign for society if it's scary to be fighting zombies then killing human survivors. I think I just find it less terrifying because there is less running around in the dark suspense, I'm too chicken for that stuff! If you haven't been watching The Walking Dead though I highly recommend it! Fun Fact: The man who plays Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is British in real life, too bad he can't use his accent in the show!
This was another week without many photo taking opportunities, here are a couple from art class this week. We are taking turns hosting art workshops for one another, it's a lot of fun! We decorated one of the bulletin boards in the hallway at school so now everyone can enjoy our art.
Anyway tonight is Taco Night so it's time to wrap this up! Wishing you all a fabulous week!
