Checked Myself, Still Wrecked Myself

Side note: Yes, I promised weekly Sunday updates. I know, it's Wednesday. Life has just been incredibly hectic and I didn't have time to write. I promise it won't happen again (ok, I can't promise, but I'll try harder!)

So, I have developed a reputation at school for constantly injuring myself, often in dramatic fashion. Basically I am a hot mess, as you all probably knew. It happens so frequently they've turned my name into a verb. When someone hurts themselves they say they "Pulled a Kim." HAHA!

Just a few examples for you over the past few weeks:

It all started when I came inches away from walking into a railing dividing a hallway on campus, my hand thumping into it (hard) was my saving grace, it could have been much more unpleasant.

During our music class we all sit on the floor in a circle to sing (don't judge- you're just jealous!), anyway we had to stand up for the next song so I had one of my friends pull me up, except I made no efforts to help her and ended up falling on top of another friend.

I've tried to drink out of the wrong side of my coffee cup, and didn't realize when nothing came out but when it started pouring out from the top side.

Twice in a one hour period I managed to walk into things I should't have. The first time we were shopping and I grazed a diagonal support beam with my head, luckily it was padded. Shortly after that we were walking back to class and I walked into a tree branch, much to my companions amusement.

These are just a few of the many examples over the past few weeks, I just get so caught up in whatever I'm doing or my conversation that I totally zone out on my surroundings.

This didn't happen in class, but it's a prime example of the many ways I wreck myself or my surroundings. Putting groceries away I managed to spill blueberries everywhere, argh!

In class I've also admitted to enjoying interpretive dance (to Carly Simon's Your So Vain), and being obsessed with J. Biebs (though that is nothing new).

In other life news, school time has just flown by! There are two days of class left and then we start placement next week. We wrote two finals in two days, have a major quiz tomorrow and two assignments due Friday. But then all of our classes for the semester are over which is amazing!

I've had my placement introduction meeting, it went really well. I am going to be in a Kindergarten program, not far from home. I predict it will be a great few weeks and that I will learn a lot. I am excited to get it started but I am going to miss spending the days with my friends, we've been having a lot of fun. This week we took an adventure to the new-to-Ottawa Menchies and had delicious fro yo. AMAZING.

Jay had his ankle surgery last week to remove the broken hardware from a previous surgery. It went great and he is recovering well. He's not a big fan of having things done for him though so I spend a lot of time reminding him to relax. I'm also not the greatest nurse Jay has me spoiled because he is always doing for me so it's an adjustment on my end to be so attentive to him.

Last week we also celebrated our four year anniversary with some delicious chinese food and ice cream. Four years! It is amazing, he is such a wonderful fellow and I am glad to have him in my life.

I'll leave you with a funny snippet of our life from the other day.

Scene: Jay is laying on the couch, I am trying to heat up leftovers (meatloaf- it was delicious!) and instead of studying for my exam we've decided to go to the mall for a little while because Jay needs to get out of the house.

Me: AHHHHHHHHHH! (Yelling)
New shirt from GAP, love the colour!
Jay: What's wrong?
Me: We're going to be late for the mall! AHHHHHH!!
Jay: Relax, the mall is open until 9 we've got lots of time (Sidenote: 5:00pm at the time)
Me: No, I can't relax! (Still yelling) By the time we get there it will be 6 and we won't have time because of your crutches you'll be slow.
Jay: (Shaking his head and laughing) Ok, whatever you say.
Me: Hurry up and eat, we've got to go! (Still yelling)

..........a short time later at the mall....

Me: Jay can we go home? I'm tired and we've been to all the good stores. (Sidenote: 7:30pm)

Yup, I'm special. Hopefully tonight's post brought a few chuckles, I might try posting more than once a week again now that school has returned my soul (briefly!) I'd love to know what you think!

Keep Smiling :)
