Friday night we went to see Great Big Sea at Bluesfest. Last summer although Snoop Dogg was in the lineup Jay and I didn't end up going so this year we decided we couldn't miss it! Bluesfest is a 10 day festival of live shows, 4 stages, lots of vendors and only about 20 minutes away from our house. Though called Bluesfest there is actually a variety of music everyday. For my birthday Jay gave me tickets to see Great Big Sea, whom we had heard were amazing live and they did not disappoint.

Playing rockstar, I also got the last pair of free wayfarers at the RBC tent, awesome! I hid my free green TD sunglasses before we went to the tent, figured that wouldn't help my chances.
I think I squealed when we found Lone Star amongst the food vendors, sure it would have been great to try something new but that's really not me. I insisted we get two orders of chips and salsa (definitely one order too many) and have a mini picnic while we waited for Great Big Sea.
The screen's were huge and made it easy to see everything happening on stage, though we had a reasonable view of the stage from where we were standing.
If you ever have the opportunity to see Great Big Sea live, take it! I always wondered if the hype around their live shows was true, and they far exceeded my expectations. Such a high energy fun show, we were dancing, clapping and singing along the whole time.
